Standard motion detection triggers on any pixel change, which means alerts fire for wind, shadows, and animals. AI detection is object-based. The system classifies what is moving before deciding whether to alert, which makes it practical in environments where traditional motion detection would generate too many false positives to be useful.

Recording behavior depends on system configuration. Most Vulcan deployments record continuously to on-site local storage. The AI detection layer analyzes the feed in real time on top of that. Because processing happens on the camera itself, video does not leave your network.
